Not Colorado
Of course not... It's "The Other Colorado" (aka Utah...) - some images I took over the past weekend at Capitol Reef.

The album is here

I love the juxtaposition of yellow and blue here. Can't wait to check out the rest momentarily.

PS - Todd, I put up a second pano of a much wider angle after you posted.

Nice work, Les! Fantastic composition in the one you posted! :toast:

Cool image Les! The blueish clouds with the warm foreground works great!

I think my favorite image on your gallery page is the Color in HQ Canyon one. I'm a sucker for big walls like that, and this image has a real painterly feel to it. Nice!

I have to admit I'm a sucker for desert varnish and big walls, too. It wars with my fascination with rock-and-tree images (hence the posted photo); the Mormon Tea was close enough to 'tree' to catch my attention on the HQ Canyon picture.

I took about a dozen shots of that yellow rock outcrop, and only two were tack-sharp on further review. Both were horizontals, hence the square cropping - the rest was less-interesting rock wall and Tea bushes.

Stunning presentation, very strong and full of layers to please the eye!

Les,

Nice work here - I like the combination of colors.
I'm going out to Monument Valley at the end of next week myself and I can hardly stand being at work right now...

You and I met last Thanksgiving at Mesa Arch - I finally joined up. :toast: My Mesa Arch shots from that trip are here.

Nice stuff; glad to "see" you here. My two Mesa Arch shots are on my Most Recent gallery (until I get these Capitol Reef shots a companion or two...); I like yours a lot.
