Well they've done it again. Brad & Scott have numerous pictures published in the current edition of Kansas! magazine & 2011 calendar.
Great work guys!

Congratulations Brad and Scott. It's hard enough just to get 1 photo published, and you guys get several consistently. That says alot about your talent. Well done.

Thank you Wayne, and way to go Scott (again)! Not a big money maker for sure but it does help to get one noticed. I have had a few additional sales from the work in the Kansas magazine, one being a sale for another calendar published by McCormick Armstrong with a print run of 100,000 for national distribution. (And I know I undercut my price on that as well, note to self - start high very high and negotiate from there)
The marketing end of ones photography is by far the hardest part of trying to do this as a business with at least 70-90% of ones time needed to devote strictly to marketing and getting work noticed and then where does one start, it's a struggle and frustrating to get anyone to notice and then to sell something is well, hard to say the least. I have tremendous respect and admiration for professionals such as Tim Ernst who have worked years to make a successful business in nature photography as well as being an advocate for nature and the lands. I have come to realize that the benefits of photography remain the same and only get better as long you enjoy what your doing, learn something every time your out, respect nature the land and others regardless of whether you sell anything or not. The mention here by you Wayne is greatly appreciated and worth much more than a few bucks I gain from a picture in a magazine. Thank you again my friend.

Congrats Scott & Brad. Having shot with you both - I know the dedication you put into your craft. This is a well deserved honor.

Thanks Wayne for the comments. Congrats to Brad for both the magazine and the calendar...2 shots in the calendar if I remember right (I've already got it ready to go on the wall at work!).
I agree with Brad (as usual I couldn't have said it any better!) regarding the comment Wayne (and also that marketing is frustrating!).
