Moorhen that was brave enough to run across the gravel to get to the free offerings first.

Neat image noise reduction applied and one white patch removed from left of birds foot.

Lovely portrait of a not much photographed bird. BG colour is stunning. Also like the bit of mush in the foreground. :toast:

Very nice portrait Roy, unusual POV and great detail, is this a juvenile as the beak doesn't have the defined red and yellow separation?

Thankyou for your comments. Heath, the Books I have looked at suggest it is youngish bird though I am not sure if it would a this years bird.

Yep, good portrait Roy with an interesting colour as a BG, ties in nicely.

Personally I might take a third (or there abouts) off the base, just for balance? Not sure how you feel about cloning, but perhaps also the white between the legs on the ground and the small patch on the bird by the wing, just cosmetic I guess

Great to see you noted the slight changes made, congrats on that. :toast: :toast: :toast:

POV is spot on for this shot
Slight distraction between the feet but still a great image.
Well done.

Geoff.

Nicely within the DoF, an alert pose makes for a very nice portrait of this youngster.

Good deatiled portrait and I like the colour palette and eye; might be temopted to get rid of the white area as has been said, but not a big thing :toast:
