Fallow Deer Buck #2
50D, 400/2.8, Tripod + BWG HD
ISO400, 1/160 @ f3.5
ACR6.2 + resize & sharpen CS5
Full width of frame, cropped to 16 x 9 format.

Hi,

Since moving house time seems to have been very limited for photography, hopefully the 'luxury hide' at the bottom of the garden will be finished soon....

Here is another Fallow Buck from a couple of weeks back, early morning sun, just coming over the top of the trees...

All the best

A good Autumn image Phil with complimenting colours too. I like the slight incline and the added breathe just sets the scene.

'hopefully the 'luxury hide' at the bottom of the garden will be finished soon....' - you are getting soft these days  you have been mixing with the wrong people on that awards table!!!

Very nice, I like the breath showing
I think the crop works well here.
Well captured.

These are a couple of lovely shots Phil. It is interesting to see them taken with such wide apertures, I think we sometimes forget they are there - or at least most of us do.
Home hides are great, you only have to share them with your friends.

Oh yes and you can have a kettle and some heat in them too. :jump:

Attractive subject and background. I think I would have left it in 3x2 format for general presentation though as the cropping leaves the subject looking a bit crammed into the corner of the frame and with our culture bias of scanning from left to right, my view is being dragged into the empty (negative) space on the right. Obviously this would work if some there were text in this area but from a purely aesthetc perspective, the negative space might work better if the image was flipped horizontally. This is just my view and I would be interested in your reasons for the crop.

Hi Phil,

Reasons for the crop? Experimentation really, trying different ways of getting away from the 3 x 2 format so decided to experiment a little with the wide screen format, of course as ever, some will like others won't... the original saved tiff conversion is of course 3 x 2 which allows editors/users to crop as they see fit....

Interesting your comment about flipping, I must try that...

All the best

Phil
