Bighorn Also
Obviously I ran into Dan photographing bighorn this morning. BTW, if anyone is heading up to Georgetown, we caught some flack from the Division of Wildlife for being too close. Just so I am clear, both of these are about 60-70% of original with a 500mm and 1.3 crop factor. The second one I even had my 1.4 attached (yes 700mm), but it was too close (we were probably 75 yards out and the animals were not acting up in the slightest). The lady with the division guy kept telling me the road is private and she has a public viewing station on the other side of the highway. When I said, I bet my photos will be great from 1/4 mile away, she laid into me about not caring for the animals. I am not sure you all want to know what I said to her next  The other good part, is when we left, about 10 people were at least threee times closer than us with wide angle lenes further down the road.
This now makes the third time this year I have been harassed in some manor out shooting and I am getting sick of it. Maybe I should just photograph high school seniors...

Nice shots in spite of the harassment. I like the second one better, mainly because the first one looks like he's been in a few too many battles. I also think the focus and lighting are a little better in the second shot.

I think it would be great if we had some clarity about what our legal rights are in a situation like you were in, assuming that you really weren't trespassing onto private property.

Thanks for the comments Jim. The road is private, but the owner doesn't mind. I was one of probably 25-35 people and have been there the last 2 years also. Plus, we were standing on the road...about as far as we could even be from the sheep and still see them.

Kurt- What i want to know is if you were shooting in your shorts like last year? Nice shots and I also like the 2nd one best. I have been down to Georgetown a couple times in the last week and finally saw more than one Ram in the group. Maybe we will start to seem some action next week. I'm glad I stayed away this weekend.

Great shot Kurt. I'm planning on heading up there in the next week or so.

I really like both of these shots! The first one looks like he's commenting on your situation as well.
This looks some high school seniors I know so you could have a future there if you want one

Nice shots Kurt! Went to today and it was really slow!

Kurt, Its hit and miss but the sheep are starting to show up in the Big Thompson Canyon.
No one there to harass you unless a traffic jam starts. I've spotted a couple of keepers on my way up to Estes above Drake.
