Deleting Gallery Pictures

I thought I saw a post about this but I can't find it...my eyes are too weak Anyway, is there a way to delete any of our pictures in our gallery? I know the pictures are automatically gone after 35 days if you don't put them in your gallery. I went into edit on my pics and removed the check mark for gallery but the pictures are still there. Thanks for any input.

The only way to delete an image is before anyone has commented on it (you will see a delete button when you go to your gallery). Once a comment has been made, you have to wait the 35 days. If there is a real reason for wanting it deleted (you posted the wrong picture, something went horribly wrong) you can ask the moderator to remove it, but those instances are rare.

Also, the auto-delete script runs once a day (at night, EST) so anything you've unchecked older than 35 days can take up to 24 hours to be deleted.

Beth, when you remove the checkmark on a photo in your gallery, the picture remains for a bit - like until midnight that night.
I deleted several older images in my Gallery recently, to make room for new ones, and they disappeard after midnight of the day I deleted.

I believe even if you remove the checkmark in your gallery, the 35-day timer still applies. Also, even if you do NOT check the box when posting an image, it will STILL show up in your gallery.

So, I think you can either wait the 35 days and it will disappear, or I'm sure if you sent a note to Jim he would delete it for you for a reasonable explanation. As a moderator, I can only delete images if they were posted in ES&S, and then by guidelines can't delete after comments have been posted. There are of course exceptions; run it by Jim and he will gladly take care of it for you.
