Superb John (despite the squarish crop). Detail and exposure is absolutely spot on. Best KF image seen for a while.

Lovely detail John. Only minor nits for me are a little big in the frame and not keen on the square crop Otherwise a cracker :toast:

Gorgeous directional light shows off the plumage very nicely. The eye is great. I agree just a little tight.

Thanks all
Spent the past two hours trying to get more space around the bird as most suggested,. I only had one other shot and it was the same size in the frame. I have had to create more background. Not sure if the effort was worth it. What do you think.
Cheers

John, I like both images but prefer the second. Lovely light, detail on the Kingfishers and I like the background too. Andrew

Hi John,

The second image really works. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Bags of detail and the composition is spot on. The effort was worth it.

I didn't know you could use Fuji Velvia with digital John!
A very attractive image - the second comp for me, all day long.

I too prefer the 2nd one John.
But I am amazed nobody's mentioned the amputated foot yet!

Go to the top of the class !! I wondered how long it would be.
I know I should have left the first one alone instead of trying to enlarge the canvas
I tried to use the only other shot I had with more canvas on but I should have spent three instead of two hours
Cheers
