Birch Bark Cherry Macro
Took a hike through Washington Park and found a great birch bark cherry tree. I spent over an hour photographing macros. It was a wonderful and peaceful meditation, this was one of my favorite.

5D
100mm macro
8sec, f/25, ISO 100

The lines and color are terrific. Glad you were able to find a section of bark that didn't have someone's initials carved in it...impossible in Seattle's Washington Park Arboretum.

I know I'm terrible about reposting, but here is a slightly warmer and brighter version I liked better.

I know what you mean Mark, this tree is also covered in initials. It's kind of a shame, because it's such beautiful tree.

Very nice capture Zack! I love the flowing lines and interesting colors in this!

Is there a "Washington Park" in Oregon or were you up here in the Anacortes area where Nancy & I were last weekend?

Rick, this is the Oregon Washington Park, it might also be known as the Hoyt Arberetum, i'm not sure. It's up by the zoo and the rose garden.
