Hi everyone! I posted a topic a while back about how this January I have the incredible opportunity to go to Saudi Arabia with my dad. I have been doing plenty of research, and I found a subject that I REALLY want to photograph when I'm there. Its an arabian oryx, a critically endangered species that for a while, was extinct in the wild. Theres are two main herds in Saudi Arabia, one near Riyadh, the capital, and one in a large reserve near the empty quarter (the largest expanse of sand in the world) called Uruq Bani Ma'arid. Its this reserve that I'm most interested in, as it is the most photogenic (photos of arabian oryx with a sand desert background), but I have no idea how I could make this work. After doing some research, I found out that if we wish to go to the reserve, a ranger will accompany us, but we need our own vehicle. Also, it would be impossible to find the herd in such a vast area without help. Are there organizations that I can contact to help us find someone to connect with and perhaps be our guide? I have been thinking about the National Wildlife Federation, but I really have no clue who I should contact... Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!
