Here is another shot from Washington Park. It gives a better feel for what is in the park to attract a Nature Photographer. The rock trail is fully natural, not man made at all. The southwest corner of the park is full of these gnarly old trees. Some of which like these two are dead and many others that look a whole bunch like old ponderosa pines but with shorter needles (I'm no tree expert...). Plenty of old madronas and cedars too.
I think of these trees as relics hence the name of the image.
Anyhoo lemme know what yall think of this one ok?

Hi Rick, I think as far as the compostion and technicals go, it is very good - but as far as appearance it just seems a little lackluster - as if it is still just a little early yet. I'm fighting with that very problem, trying to convince myself to wait a little longer to get out and work on the projects I have in mind for this year.
Thanks for calling our attention to intimate compositions, to ways that unsensational trees and rocks and grasses can fill a composition and illustrate the wonder that's everywhere. That's what I try to do, and I'd try to send some attempts, but I'm still fighting with monitor calibration. More please! & BTW I assume you tried this image with just a bit more contrast & saturation?

Rick,
Ned said exactly what I was thinking. Spring growinnnng season is just starting and these type of shots will be alot more pleasing to the eye.
