I run a register version of cs4 on a desktop and would like to install it on a laptop also. Question is, can I install it (legally) on the laptop as well or is there an additional license needed for a 2nd machine same user(hopefully at a minimal cost). Thanks for your time.

My understanding of the Adobe license is that you can install a second copy on your laptop. As long as you are not running both simultaneously, you are within the letter and spirit of the license.

Maybe someone else will chime in that knows for sure?

You're correct, Keith.

I have a copy of CS5 and LR3 on my 2 computers, and it is my understanding it is OK to do so as long as your don't use the 2 computers at the same time.

You are all correct on Photoshop. I have LR3 installed on my computer, my wife's computer and our two laptops. As far as I know, Adobe has nothing as part of the software, as long as you use the correct serial #, from stopping more than two LR installs.
