I am working on processing some images from my recent trip to the Southwest and found that on my first morning there was a long thread on my sensor. I had cleaned my camera the day before and tested it so this was a surprise. Out in the field there was no option but to keep shooting as my sensor cleaning equipment was a mile away in my truck. I'm new to Photoshop and was thrilled to learn about CS5s new content aware tool. It helped me save a number of images from that morning that I don't know how I would have fixed otherwise.

Here's this shot with that awful thread. http://morninglight.us/forum/10/1120a.jpg

Erik, that certainly would be a PITA using Lightroom, but in any version of CS, that is a rather simple cloning job, even without content aware fill.

I love the light. Is this around Factory Butte?

Great shot, content aware is great; it's about the only reason I go into photoshop other than Pano stitching.

Nice Erik. I had a similar problem a couple months back on a bunch of my images and was able to fix it in Photoshop fortunately.

PS: I was checking out some of your images from your trip on your website recently. Looks like we roamed a lot of the same areas. =)

Eric- Looks like you got hooked on the Southwest- hard not to! Thanks for the tip.

I hate it when that happens. Yeah - Content aware is really great for those exact cases.

Geez, Erik--open shutter, lock up mirror, blow hard once---end o' problem!

I hear the new Lint Roller Tool they are developing for CS6 is even better than the CAF tool

That cottonwood falls pic is just exquisite, great work as usual Erik!

This is a beautiful image, Erik. I love the soft light.

I had the same thing happen to me in Death Valley last year - a nice worm-shaped fiber just wouldn't go away.

First make sure you've eaten eight or nine saltines first. :jump:

Great image BTW!

What a gorgeous image. Great color! I really like the neutrals against the cool colors. Glad you have that option to clean it up! :toast:
