Hello from the Central Coast

Hi everyone -- I've just joined the group and am looking forward to getting to know you all. I've been taking pictures for about four years, progressing in that time from the Canon S2 to the Rebel and now to the 40D. I live in the Santa Cruz area and I mostly photograph nature; one of my favorite places to go is the Elkhorn Slough in Moss Landing, but I also commute up and down the coast on Highway 1 so am always open to interesting shots along the way. I enjoy doing macro as well, and have recently gotten the 100mm lens for that purpose -- enjoying it a lot. I've learned a lot in the past few years, but I still have much to learn, and I'm always open to learning what other folks have to teach me.

Welcome! You came to the right place if you want to learn - I know I have.

Thanks for the welcome! I appreciate it.

Hi Elise! Welcome aboard.

It is a good, friendly and helpful group. I think you will enjoy it.

Elise,

Welcome to our little home away from home. I checked out your Flikr page and you have some very wonderful, artsy images. Your "antique?" processing on many of the images is outstanding. You will do well in the Photo Art Gallery here on NPN. Check it out if you haven't already.

Welcome.

Lon

Thanks very much! I have been working with textures for a while, trying to find my own "style." At some point the pics stop being photographs and start being graphics, I guess, but it's just a different direction. I still have a long way to go with photography, but I am having a good time doing it.

Hello Elise and welcome to NPN!

Welcome!
I'll be heading to Santa Cruz in the next couple months, looking for the Monarchas and any birds that are about.
Maybe we can meet up!
Sandy
