Nice to get a shot of such an attractive species. The sunlit reeds in the background draw the eye a little but sometimes you have little choice in the matter.
The way the light is spotlighting the bird and 'perch' works very well.

What a beautiful bird, must be one of the prettiest that we have here in the UK
Well captured.
The BG doesn't bother me, a plain one would've been better of course but getting the shot was the most important thing.

I like the spotlight on the face and beak area of the bird. Lovely species.

These have been very active at a reserve local to me, but I've not managed a clear shot like this so far this year :toast:

Beautiful image and lighting Keith. Sometimes you just have to take the species in its habitat. It is natural after all. :toast:

Hello Keith.

Lovely capture and the light on the bird and perch is beautiful. My first thoughts where that the background was alittle busy, but after looking at this for a while I think the background as work quite well for this setting and I like this just as is now and wouldnt change any thing.
