If you all are like me, you sat on a lot of images through the fall season until you had decided which ones to use in the contest. This forum was a little slow in fall primetime, so I expect that's the case for many. So let's see your runners-up! What didn't quite make the cut for the contest?
My first runner-up is this shot of Tesuque Basin above Santa Fe. I actually don't go up there much in fall, because the compositional choices can be a bit limited. But a little luck with the atmosphere fixed that problem!

I think a little increase in contrast across the yellows and you'll have some nice pop to this image. Its an easy selection to create a luminosity mask on the red channel to pull out just that segment. Looks like a forest I would enjoy.

Beautiful Image, those Aspen forests down there look amazing. I like Mel's suggestion of a little increase in contrast.

Nice rainbow and the trees really stand out against the dark sky.

Very pretty, and I agree with the contrast suggestion.
