Icecapades
Made my semi-annual trip to the Green Mountain Falls frozen cascades; it's my favorite place to shoot ice, and the flow is always slightly different so there's always something new to shoot--kind of like the Sand Dunes. Anyhow, i could use some help weeding thru the keepers, since only one or two will survive the final cut, so id appreciate some input! Happy Thanksgiving to all! :toast:

Stan,

All are nice in different ways. Good set and tough to choose.
My choice would be II with a crop off of the right 25% Right now, my eye wants to look both at the water flow with rocks and the bulbous icicle on the right.
My $.02 from a devalued dollar.

Happy Thanksgiving also.

Stan, there are some very cool shots there. My fav are II and III because they draw me into the scene. For a second you almost lose track of scale and think they are massive ice caves. =)

Very nice images Stan, I like the second and fifth.

These are really "cool" Stan! I like I and II best.

Hmm... I kind of like the simpler ones and might throw off the average here. My pics are IV and V. Not an easy task to just pick one or two. I miss ice, damn you Zapata Falls!

Stan, What a beautiful set of ice images.
Rod Chandler and I just got back from Bosque del Apache and White Sands.
I haven't posted any thing yet, but we thought of you and your beloved Dunes.
I really like your new background showing to dune texture...very unique.

I'm no help, I'd keep them all, except maybe the triptych.

My favorite might be #6 cropped down to the top of the flowing water, but i also think most of the others are about as good!

Thanks for the input, folks!

Right off the bat, #'s I & VI (with a top and left crop losing the bright background) appealed to me in an artistic way.

Nice detail. Like the little bit of color on the right side.

I like 2, 5, 6, and 8. Cool set, but I don't think they compare to the strong work you have from the last couple of years.

Nice set, I like the composition in Icecapades IV

Morris--i have to agree with you, i was really excited when i was on site, but when i uploaded all my shots, i was really pretty dissapointed. I kind of felt uninspired. The weird thing is that ive written some of the best songs i've ever done in the past couple of weeks, so maybe i can only do music or photography at one time...who knows.
