A red squirrel attempts a drink at a woodland stream ( from last week ).They are just coming out of the summer coats and this week I'm hoping they'll be in better condition . Numbers are way down which has got progressively worse over the last month. (Local trust informed .)

Nice natural shot.
Maybe a teeny bit more space on the left or a tad off the right ?

Well captured Mark, looks good to me
You must have a lot of patience to get shots like this.
Well Mr Davis your patience & persistence is slowly being rewarded indeed, but I might question based on the 'techs' do you need to find another location, as shooting at 1/100 ISO1000 is perhaps not ideal Mark?
Roughly knowing the location and set-up I guess a real low POV is out of the question? What I am suggesting Mark is there any chance of being at eye level, but think the rocks & boulders will not allow this and may remove any reflection cast, but perhaps a punt. I like the pose and position in frame, but the slight loss of detail and clarity lets it down for me matey, sorry.

Hi Mark very nice capture and setting. nice to see this behavior. Steve nothing wrong with the location, Marks using a D3 he could shoot up to ISO3200 and still have virtualy no noise.
A fine behavioural image. I don't see a problem with the image's quality myself and you appear to have got a good result, given the low light levels.

I have been waiting to see these. Nicely done. I like the way that the brightest parts of the image is the central area around the squirrel.
Good catchlight as well. Maybe at this size it needs a touch more sharpening on the subject to make it bite a little more.
