Short Eared Owl
Well as usual these birds kept us waiting, light went poor using 1600 ISO, was freezing to death but at least we saw them and this image was how it was, freezing but its a start and can only hope for better light and conditions

Canon 1DMK4, Canon 500f4L + 1.4 convertor, ISO 1600, f5.6, 1/800

Thanks everyone, Jules I was using that ISO because the birds were flying and light was poor so didn t have nothing to lose so upped the ISO wouldn t use 1600 if I can help it, didn t expect it to land and no time to change the ISO, if I was just waiting to photograph a perched bird I wouldn t have been using 1600

Sorry Jules I should really say I am going to sound thick now but am never sure what percentage to say, it is cropped but not by much I could have gone for a landscape shot to with a bit more habitat in it, which my next image will have of one in flight, so for the conditions of the light I was quite pleased with the result I just run a light noise reduction just on the background which to be honest wasn t to bad it just give a more smooth look
