Thanks to everyone who voted for my image, "Autumn Oaks and Snags", as the winner of this year's contest. I'll be donating the $150 prize to my friend, Brody Young. Brody is a Utah State Parks Ranger here in Moab who was shot multiple times on Friday, Nov. 19, by Lance Arellano at the Poison Spider trailhead. Brody and I attended the police academy together and we've backed one another on dozens of traffic stops and contacts over the years. He's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Learn more about Brody and how you can make a donation at http://www.rangerbrody.org.

I enjoy participating in the fall contest year after year. This year the collection of images were especially good. Congratulations to the winners (and thanks to the moderators)!
Also, good thoughts to your friend, Bret. I have some special appreciation for the rangers and wardens who take risks to keep wilderness areas safe.

After reading through these responses I realized I was a bit hasty w/ my initial post and neglected to comment on the extraordinary talent amassed here in this forum. Each year the images submitted to this contest get better and better, which is amazing considering how freakin' crazy cool they've been over the last couple of years. Congrats to the other winners and to all entrants for some seriously inspiring work!
I bet a calendar of the top 12 images would sell like hot cakes. Just sayin'.
Congratulations to the winners ! Really great collection of images here

I am very late here, been out of town w/out computer access. Incredible images and the winners deserve it! Bret, I've been following the story of ranger Brody and I hope for only the best for he and his family.
