Hi All
Despite looking very autumnal this image was made just before the cold snap kicked in. The blur was created with a combination of a slow shutter speed, shallow DoF and hand-holding. Not for everyone but I like the overall effect.
Cheers,
Chris

I suspect people will either love this or hate it, Chris. Personally, I like the impressionistic feel of the entire thing.
I'm guessing more 'hate' than 'love' David. Maybe just indifference - after all it isn't a sexy bird or mammal. Like you, I like the impressionistic feel of the image.
I don't hate it Chris but then again I don't love it either. I'm not sure that the effect is enhanced by the obvious depth of field difference. I think for this to work for me the oof leaves in the background would need to be more on the plane of the front leaves. As it is there appears to be almost two halves to the image.
Probably haven't explained myself very well but I suppose it's better than just saying it doesn't work for me without any explanation.

I agree with Robert.
I quite like this but can,t really say why ! It would make an idea back drop for putting dark text on for a presentation though.

Sorry Chris but I don't find this really works for me. Maybe if all the BG had been green I'm not sure though.

reminds me of those OOF water droplets on glass images but with a new bent. Personally I think you are onto something and perhaps with a different BG it may just have come off that more striking . Liking the bold colours and the effect.
