Wonderfully detailed image. You hace really controled the exposure in both the whites and the blacks on this.

Great picture.

Minor nit is the bird in my view would be better placed a little lower in the frame.
No big deal - just my personal view,
Cheers

Technically up to usual Geoff standards . Blacks slightly blocking perhaps?A lift in levels to the mids makes it lift a little more. :toast:

Agree the bird is a little high in the frame... also the blacks do appear to be a little blocked, not easy I know... you don't say if you shot in RAW or not.... I avoid Shadow/Highlight in PS like the Plague and prefer to get this right on conversion... The other way is to use a blip of fill flash...

Thanks everyone

Yes Phil, I only shoot RAW.
This was processed for another site maybe over a year ago and just resized for on here.
My processing has no doubt improved a bit since then so the blacks shouldn't be like that on new shots.
I don't own a flash but it's something worth thinking of.

Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

'This was processed for another site maybe over a year ago and just resized for on here'

Cheers... that would explain it... resizing an image already prepared for posting will often result in things happening to the image that are not desirable like the blocked shadows, along with contrast and sharpness problems.... Hope you still have the RAW cause reprocessed with your present skills it will be a corker...

Phil
