Sawhill Ponds this morning
Look what I found in Sawhill Ponds this morning!

5.5MP crop from my D2X; ISO800, 80-400VR at 400mm, 1/350 at f/8.
Noise Ninja'd and digitally removed a small branch from the lower left corner.

Les - nice shot.

I have been thinking about wandering around Sawhill Ponds, since I have not been there in several years. Looks like you had a good day there.

If you've got the time and equipment, I saw lots of Hooded Mergansers at Walden Ponds this morning (just next door to Sawhill). Also some Common Mergansers. Other than that, the Ringnecks, Gadwall, and Widgeons are plentiful. Saw a couple of Pied-billed Grebe, too.

I didn't get a lot of time at Sawhill today. I parked at Walden and caught the Eagle just at the walking entrance to Sawhill from there. I spent a half-hour with this guy at least; the lighting was questionable thanks to a morning cloudbank, but with a dark bird like a Golden Eagle, it was probably just as well.
