Wheatear
1D-II, 500/4, 1.4xII, 1/400s @ f/5.6, ISO320.

Seems like so long since I've managed to get any shooting done, this winter and it's miserable weather just seem to have dragged on and on :frown: . So, when the sun shone briefly yesterday afternoon we grabbed the chance and went off to check on some frog pools up on the moors to see if spawning had begun. Only a few frogs in the pool, and not much sign of squashed ones on the road, so I guess the cold weather is delaying them too.

A little futher up the road, we spotted a couple of male Wheatears - the first I've seen this year so, despite the weather, spring must be here .

To all the folks that have joined up and started posting recently...welcome to the forum! :toast:

Hooray, the wheatears are back. Nice shot Nick & I like the graduated background. I will head up the glen tomorrow morning and see if any of ours are in yet.

Beautiful and appealing shot, lovely colours and I like the 'over the shoulder' pose of the little bird.

A stonking shot Nick :toast:

This is one species I would love to get.

Congratulations :toast:

Hi Nick

Still to see my first one for the year - hope I get one that poses as well!

Hi Nick,

Still to see one this year too, I like this, particularly your choice of presentation.

A little too much on top for me - but I suppose it provides for a great magazine front cover :toast:
Cracking shot. Graeme
