Hi,

One from yesterday when it finally stopped snowing... all the lying snow bounces the light around giving some interesting effects...

Been clearing snow most of the day and have to wait for British Gas tomorrow, to get the central heating up and running again, brrr, so not much photography this weekend....

All the best

Phil

You've really made the best of what is a comparatively dull looking bird here Phil, with a nice 'characterful' perch, a lovely clean and complementary background, beautiful lighting and a superb composition - well done :toast: :toast:

Another fine capture of a beautiful, often overlooked bird.

I really love this one. One of those images where you read the title and think oh, a chaffinch, open it up and wonder how someone has made a common bird and female at that look so stunning. Makes me want to go away and try harder!

Wonderful :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

I agree Phil, think the soft reflective light from below makes this.

An often overlooked species but they're beautiful in the right conditions.
The snow has helped you here by bouncing some light back on the bird.
Well captured Phil.

Beautiful natural looking sharpness here and all the colours work very well here.If it wasnt full frame I would have looked at it with a slight counter clockwise rotation as its stance may have look more comfortable?.Your chaffinches do seem prettier than ours, as I said in a recent post they seem darker. :toast:

Phil

Do they get any better than this?
