Hi all,
It was dull and overcast all day today so I decided to dust off the flash guns and have another go at "freezing" the action. The temperature outside complemented this project perfectly !
There is a lot of trial and even more error in this type of image as there are many variables. For every image I decide to keep there are hundreds that find there way into the recycle bin.

Canon 1DMK4, 70-200 lens at 105mm, multiple flashes with the extra catchlights cloned away.
Cheers

Agree with the others, a dynamic image in terms of capturing the action - the bird's pose is wonderful.
A question that struck me straight away was is the lack of background illumination giving the image a bit of a nocturnal feel? That would be my only nit. Nonetheless, you've clearly got the flash system freezing the motion.

Nice shot Austin
Bird looks fine but echo's chirs about the background something not quite right, and what looks to be a shadow of the Teasel in the bottom right.

Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback and critique. Much appreciated.
@Chris @Dale. Thanks for your constructive feedback. The Background looks quite a bit darker to my eyes when viewing the image on this NPN website due to the white surrounding area of the image offered by the web page design. When I view my website where the same file is shown at 800px wide but against a black background, more detail is evident. At least that is what I see here anyway. I think my pupils close up a bit when a dark image appears in the middle of a white surrounding. Do you see more detail in the background on my website version ?
