Quickie Dunes
Swung by the dunes on my way back from Gunnison the other day--heres a few shots from late afternoon and sunset.
1) The return of the coyote--it must have been the same guy who was headed towards sunrise in a shot i took a while back, cause his tracks were headed in the opposite direction for sunset

2) Close up from shot i posted yesterday in the Man & Nature Gallery.

3) Brain Teaser. One more on ESS! That's all--i told you it would be a quickie!

The colors and textures are huge Stan! When you take a shot that makes the viewer want to be there in the worst way, you've succeded. :toast:

Excellent! Shooting the GSD's is so, so different from shooting the White Sands in New Mexico.

i told you it would be a quickie!

That's what she said!
Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week...

I really like the second one, and the third closely behind. (That's what she said!)

Wow...love the colors and textures! I especially like #1

All great but I really love that 2nd one.

These are really nice. I think my fav is the third one for the striking colors and "psychedelic" look. I like it even more than the one on ESS.

They're all great, but I really love the purple and pastels in the first.

Nice work as usual, Stan. I'm really drawn to #3 in this group. I immediately thought "B&W" when I saw #2.

Great stuff, Stan. I really like #2 and #3 reminds me of waves in the Pacific but I cannot be fooled. OK, so what is it??

Frank

You mean what is the subject matter, Frank? Its just dune ripples--that pattern is pretty common all over the sand dunes and in late afternoon you get some great defintion from the shadows.

I really enjoy the color and texture of #3. It's very zen to me! They are all great. I like your take on the dunes.

Stan - I really like #2 and #3. Those blues in #3 are crazy!

Stan, I love #1. Gorgeous color and comp.

Stan,
#1 with the colors of the sunset complimeting the purple sands make it the best of the set, imo. The coyote tracks leading into the comp help also. Might clone out the small contrail.

That first one is just exquisite! Great color and texture.

Just LOVE the first one Stan and of course the others are great as well....especially since I like abstratc stuff so much. The brain teaser was a very close second for me.

I like the textures in that first shot.
