I recently bought a new PC (running Windows 64bit), a new monitor (Dell U2410 with IPS Panel) and upgraded my software to CS5 64bit and LR3 64bit. I am now having a problem with LR as all of my photos in LR have a washed out appearance. I don't believe this is a monitor issue because I have calibrated the monitor and when I view photos on NPN and other websites the colors are just fine. When I take a raw file directly into Photoshop, the colors are fine and the prints come out fine. But when I take the same raw file into LR and then take it into PS to finish and print (as is my normal workflow), colors in the prints are all wrong. I feel like there is some setting in LR which is not set properly as I only seem to have issues in LR. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Carol,
I am far from a LR expert, but I can't think of or see any controls/settings that would cause the issue you describe. Since your other programs are working fine it would stand to reason that this is a problem with lightroom. It is possible that one of the program files has been corrupted and is causing it to misinterpret color pallets. Probably the best first step is to uninstall and reinstall lightroom.

Carol,
I'm not a LR expert either, even though I have been using it since it came out, however, Adobe does have a good Customer Support Portal. Just login it to your account and go directly to the portal, I'm sure you'll find a lot of help there.

"Probably the best first step is to uninstall and reinstall lightroom. "

Bob, I must respectfully disagree. Uninstall/reinstall may not fix the issue, and could also create more problems. The best course of action is to troubleshoot to see exactly what is causing the issue. If, in the end, the only solution is uninstall/reinstall then that's what Carol will need to do.

Carol,

Check the settings in LR that relate to the assignment, or conversion of, color profiles. Also, check your color profile settings in PS and your system.

When you say 'colors are all wrong', what is it that you observe?
