In keeping with the tradition, let's post our best shots of 2010. Let's keep 'em in the nature category...Man and Nature, ESS, Avian, Macro, Flora, etc...Other than that limitation, let's see what all we accomplished this year!

Where is everyone? Come on folks
This images was shot on the trail leading up ( or down) to Bridalveil falls last May. .... there was a leaf with its twin right in back and the light was pretty good to get the effect I was looking for.

Eye to Eye
Life is often too short and not always kind. One of my more interesting wild bird captures for 2010 is this Great Blue Heron with his lunch. The garter snake is mostly just a lump in the herons throat, but the snake did make a final escape attempt, exiting the herons mouth on the far side and then resting his head on top of the big birds beak. I wonder with them both "eye to eye" at this point if the snake isn't contemplating why he didn't just roll over and stay in bed that morning!

Autumns Carpet
Our very wet fall led to my shooting a collection of autumn color, spread out wet on my garage floor. This was one of my first image stacking shots using a rail and Helicon Focus stacking software.

Thanks for getting this going David! This is my favorite thread all year.
This image I call Copper Coast is from Puerto Escondido, Mexico. It was a perfect alignment of rock formations, wave motion and light. I shot here three mornings until I finally got everything the way I wanted it. This light would only last for about five minutes or so.

Unforgettable Fire. I was lucky enough to share this jaw dropping sunrise on Cascade Pass with my good friends David Cobb and Chip Phillips. I got up late and had to scramble to get this together. Sometimes the best stuff comes under pressure. All the best in the new year to everyone!

This is a great thread and forgot how nice it is to scroll through and see all the great images from the local group here. Keep up the amazing images.
Scott, your Borax Hot Springs shot is great and makes me want to get back down there again soon.
Here are a couple of mine from 2010. This first one is from Jefferson Park Wilderness on a short backpack trip during the summer wildflower season.

And here is one from the Columbia River Gorge in early spring of last year. My feet froze in the ice cold water to make this image but it was worth it.

I used a slight Orton effect on this but it's all about light.
