I would like to get recommendations for a good quality, but affordable, outdoor IP (networked) camera. My husband and I live in Florida but we are fortunate enough to have a second home in the mountains of Western North Carolina and I want to know what kinds of wildlife frequent our property when we're not there. (We have dogs so wildlife mostly stays away when we're there.)
The camera must have nightvision, good video quality, and be designed for outdoor installation. I'd also like to know whether wireless actually works for any realistic range. I'm looking for the best system out there in the ~$500 range.
Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Have you looked at ACTi's outdoor camera? Seems like it might work for you as PoE should make it easy to connect with only an ethernet cable.

I (I being my wife) have been considering one for outside our house. Not that we have problems, but just to monitor who is about/around, who is ringing our doorbell, etc.
For anyone who's interested, I ended up getting the Y-Cam Bullet. It has great picture quality and 2-way audio. I'm sitting in Florida waiting for turkeys to come around the bend in North Carolina, and listening to the gurgle of the stream!
