I thought I would do a quick share of an article I recently published on the Photo Cascadia blog called The Basics Of Exposure Blending. This is a technique very commonly used by many of the photographers on NPN. The info in this article is pretty basic for most folks who already use the technique, but it might prove valuable for those interested in learning how. Good tidings y'all.

Thanks Sean, thru trial and error I have been using the last method you describe. I still prefer filters but some scenes wont work well with a filter so it is nice to have options.

So now we know how to blend exposures, what's an exposure?

BTW, do you mind if I link from my facebook page to your article? I think it is very well done.

Great tutorial! I've been doing this for years but I just helped a friend out with the technique this morning and I just sent him a link to the tutorial so he doesn't forget how to do it.

Douglas - feel free to post links to Photo Cascadia articles anywhere you like. Our goal is to share knowledge and passion and we hope it reaches as many folks as it can.

I love your "what's an exposure" comment! However, from experience I know that not everyone is practiced in how to bracket exposures, so my lead up article to blending exposures was Bracketing Exposures For Exposure Blending.
