My husband and I hiked the Devil's Canyon trail near Fruita on Sat. An awesome trail! We hiked about 7 mi. and saw not a single soul until we were almost finished with the hike. The weather was perfect too. It was a great day and we had a "devil" of a time
This was somewhere close to the midway point of the hike, looking south (?) There was a cool abandoned cabin/shack not too far from here where cowboys used to bunk down while running cattle in the canyon back in the day. Wasn't much to look at but sure had an awesome view!

All I see is a big contrail. I'd be interested in hearing your thought process in leaving it in the photo.

Sounds like you guys had an awesome time Angela. It's fun to see stuff that still remains from times gone by. The fact that you had it all to yourselves is definitely a bonus!

Shack ????? Angela ~ that is my summer residence there! Thought I had that place all "dolled up".
That's great you are really enjoying the Monument and the surrounding area (Devils Canyon) here in the valley.
Did you see the glyphs in there also? Not much ...but there are some.
