Coyote
Captured this coyote at Crown Hill this morning. Still not sure about this one. Cropped to a vertical to draw more emphasis to the eyes. Thanks for looking.

It's an excellent portrait Dan, but it appears that an OOF grass stalk may have crossed his nose. A few of the others are mildly distracting instead of complementary, as well.
At first I thought that you may have lots better in your portfolio, but there aren't many coyote images there. Kinda surprised me.

Thanks John. I actually have more coyote images. Just need to update my portfolio page!

I like the eyes and the oof grasses. The slight blur of his nose because of the unseen grass doesn't bother me at all.

I like the comp, but find the grass a little distracting.

Excellent light and eye contact Dan. If it were mine I'd nix it due to the OOF grasses infringing on the head area.

love it. I think the oof grass makes it a far more interesting picture than it would be without.

The grasses bug me too, but not enough to say it ruined this image. I love the warm light.

Great light on the coyote, but the very bright, OOF foreground spoils it for me.
The foreground would be a great vignette if it were dark.

Keep up the good work Dan. There's a lot more coyotes out there without the grass

I usually like the out of focus grass effect with wildlife images. This one is no exception and I think it works well. However, if you darkened the coyote's nose just a bit it might bring more attention to the face and the grass may be slightly less distracting to some viewers.

The crop is perfect, same with the specimen and light!

Honestly, the bright stuff up front kills it for me--love the eyes though...

Don't ruin the shot for me. The great light overcomes any minor distractions. :toast:

A little bright and the subject is kind of bullseyed but I still like shot.
