I just bought a new PC and already own a Canon MX850 printer.....In short, I can't find the printer installation CD. Will Canon help me? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Someone told me that I won't need it with Windows 7.
Thanks in advance

I think it's a good idea to install the Canon driver. Windows uses a generic driver that may not have all the options available for the specific printer.

Thanks a bunch guys...hopefully things go smoothly. Switching computers after several years is kind of stressful.

for what it's worth, I plugged in the printer and it immediately gave me the options to install the driver and software...I did and it's working flawlessly so far. I was sure I'd have to install the software through Canon's website, but for now, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Thanks again.

Dan, the Windows driver will print just fine, but that's all you get, a printer driver. Canon's downloads will probably include utilities for Easy Print and Web Print and all that most likely. Things like that allow you to print straight from your camera to the printer. Seriously. With no post production. My 5D Mark II has that button on the back. I completely understand.
SO! If you can print, roll with it, the driver should be just fine.
