Just noticed this on the NPN general discussion, thought it should be mentioned here as well in case anyone has plans--according to the Facebook page it may be a week or more before the park reopens--the park road is seriously damaged. Crazy video: Here

Even worse news for Zion--i just checked the latest forecast guidance for Zion--and it looks like the park could see several more inches of rain by tomorrow night!

Thanks for the video link, Stan. I also heard the news on the car radio and hoped for the best. I guess we'll see few rocks rearranged in the Narrows.
We spent last New Years in Bryce, which of course wetted my appetite for a winter trip to Zion. Now I'm really glad we decided to stay home for the holidays!

Wow. It looks quite different from last month, when a bunch of us were there!
Wow. I remember when the landslide closed the place several years back.

Just saw a news video of a home being swept down the Virgin River in Littlefield AZ.
We have only had a total of one inch of precipitation since Dec 15 here in Flagstaff though.

Saw on the news that 4 homes in northern Arizona near Mesquite have been washed away by flooding. Wow!

Wow! I can't imagine what The Narrows is like. I was constantly wondering how flash flooding would be when I was in there. Hopefully the damage to some of those locations is not too severe.

It is even worse downstream here in St George where 3 more rivers join into the Virgin.
5 yrs ago 100 homes were washed away
