a Light shining in the darkness
This was a sunrise 1 week ago today...reminds me of Christmas, a Light entering the space-time continuum.

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas Barry, I love the colors and how you've balance the shot . The blue sky adds enough contrasting color to keep the shot from being too red. The ray of light is a nice touch and a very good capture.

Thanks for sharing.

Barry,
This is called and "ice pillar" or "sun pillar" I forget which. It is caused by ice crystals refracting low-level light.
This is a good example.
Consider going to spaceweather.com and submitting your photo.

The colors in this shot are super saturated. I didn't witnessed the same event you captured here but I did see a sun pillar during a recent sunset. Unfortunately I wasn't in a place to capture it for posterity. Nice work.
