Alternate title: E UR Heart out, Cloudman!
About a year ago, i was thinking of my favorite A Adams photo, and it occurred to me that with today's technology, one ought to be able to take his concept of 'previsualization' a step further, to include a preminiscence of not only the final print, but the scene itself. I envisioned my ideal setting: A cemetary with cross, at sunrise with a setting nearly full moon, fresh snow, and a row of snowcapped peaks rising above a layer of fog. I already had a spot in mind, having photographed this particular cemetary in the Wet Mountain Valley once before. So, when i finally saw my opportunity arise--several days ago--I was so excited by the prospects that i even shot a quick email out to Cloudman in an attempt to coax him to join me
Well, all went almost exactly as planned. I had wanted a bit more alpenglow in my previsualized scene, but I really can't be too greedy, cause I've never experienced such fantastic conditions in the valley before, and on Christmas Eve to boot! I have about 100 or so images to process, will hopefully post a long series in a day or two, but i couldnt wait for Christams to get out a quick sampler of this epic morning. So, here's Christmas Eve in the Wet Mountain Valley, my tribute to the Master A Adams.

i like #1 n #5 color...maybe 5 by a smidge. Very nice. I wanted to shoot the Sangres this morning but had to get some car repairs done. Excellent series and thanks for sharing-it allowed me to see it. Merry Christmas!

Well, you DID require payment of 10,000,000 dollars to divulge your location to meet, but I was out of my Hello Kitty checks.
Great stuff, Stan. Previsualization is fun, eh? I'm actually kinda partial to the Wet Mtns. images. Those clouds with that light just really does it for me.

Wonderful images Stan. It is hard to pick a favorite. While there may not be any connection, and having just seen True Grit (both 1969 and 2010), these are very true gritish. #2 is so haunting, would love to see it in B+W. Looking forward to seeing what else you got.
