Get your gear out, guys. As Stan can probably tell you, the NWS is calling for *snow* in Metro Phoenix on Thursday night.
No idea where I'm headed.. yet. Somewhere with a mountain backdrop and Saguaros, I'd think. Been waiting for this one!

I saw also the weather forecast with snow possibly to 3000' I thought about Canyonlands later this week, but saguaros and snow are tempting me to make the drive back down from Flagstaff. Lost Dutchman, Apache Trail, Four Peaks, Sycamore Creek, Roosevelt?

The special weather statement does call for snow possibly for PHX metro, but preceded by rain, and with no accumulation expected. But above 2K feet could be interesting...

If we actually do get snow here on the valley floor, there's a great spot in NE Phoenix where you can get a straight shot to the McDowell Mountains for a killer sunrise with snow & sagauros, right here. It's 5 minutes off of the 101! Now, we just need snow. (OT: call my folks in NJ today, they got 36" yesterday...)

It's amazing that when you zoom in all the way to your target, you actually see saguaro shadows. 21st Century magic!

I'm hoping for some significant snow in the Sedona area, but I'm not holding my breath for much accumulation even here. We'll see. I'll probably be making my first trip to the Grand Canyon as it's supposed to dump a foot or more there.

Guy, from the Sedona web cam, looks like you have some good snow on the Red Rocks. Since I-17 and 89A are closed, I can't get there. Hopefully roads will open to get to the Canyon or MV tomorrow.

Paul, thanks for the hint on a good sunset photo op...
I won't be there for the snow, but will be there in a few months for a week or so and have been looking for good photo op locations.

Kurt, did the snow accumulate any on the saguaros?
