Hi Everyone!
I Hope everyone is having a great holiday season! It's been an incredible year for me, and it seems like in the past few months endless opportunities have been opened up to me! I was recently honored first place in the National Wildlife Federation Photography Competition in the youth division with my photo of a family of wild bobcats in Badlands National Park. The photo has been published in the most recent NWF magazine called National Wildlife, and it has been posted, among other winners, on the NWF website.
Just recently however, I was contacted by NANPA (North American Nature Photography Association) regarding the high school scholarship program that takes place during the NANPA annual summit. The scholarship is for 10 high school students to attend the NANPA Summit for free. Scholarship recipients get one on one time with several of the worlds most prestigious photographers and editors, as well as workshops, field trips, and seminars. The summit will create a new world of opportunities for me and my photography.
I had a applied for it a few months ago, after Sandy Richards contacted me saying she would like to nominate me for the scholarship. I am very honored that she offered to do this and if it wasn't for her, I would have never applied. Sandy also contacted many other members of NPN asking to nominate me, and I have a very large THANK YOU!! to extend to all of the extremely talented and generous photographers in this community. I started posting my photos on this site about a year ago, and because of it I have grown in ways that would never have been possible if it wasn't for the input and advice from the photographers on this site! Thanks so much! and I hope to see some NPN members at the summit in McAllen Texas this March!

I'm just delighted for you.
I'm honored, and I know other NPN members are too, to have contributed in a small way to open this door for you.
Your talent and dedication will take you as far as you let it..

Sandy deserves big kudos too.
Congratulations!
There are three groups of people in the world...
1. Those who make things happen
2. Those who watch things happen
3. Those who wonder what happened.
You are solidly in the Group One. Good Job!
Sandy, thanks for all that you did on Joe's behalf!
