Spent christmas in the nearly deserted Moab area. Here's a few shots.
#1 Tried for something a little different from the iconic Delicate Arch. The set up was nice for an excellent sunset until some clouds to the west blocked the sun just 10 minutes before sunset.

#2 Turret Arch and the La Sals

#3 You know...
The wife was kind enough to actually listen to me and stand still for about 6 seconds. There was a cloud bank behind me that was lit up like it was on fire and reflected some killer light on the rock here.

#4 A long lens look to the northeast from the north window.
Love the juxtaposition of Turret Arch and the La Sals and the contrasting colors. And the clouds separating the two makes for a really striking image. It's a great image.

Awesome shot Jeff. #3 is my favorite. It's tough sometimes getting people to listen and hold still for a minute :)

Good stuff Jeff! I like #3 also!

Love those mountains peaking through the clouds on #1 and #2.

Jeff,
I really like your take on the Delicate Arch. Contextually, its totally obvious what it is, and yet the photo is fresh and unique. Good work.
#2 and #3 are both sweeeeeeet!

How refreshing to see some unique work from this area! I really enjoy your take on DA.
Primo conditions, too.
Be sure and thank your wife for us...she helped give this scene some scale and a fresh perspective.

Catching the peaks laden with snow sure adds to the overall scene.

Freakin excellent stuff Jeff! Love your take on the first shot...not like anyone elses shot from that location I have ever seen myself. I also love #3!
Great stuff, Jeff, that cloud layer is awesome! #2 stands out for me, and #1 is a really nice take on Delicate.

Great stuff! #2 is outstanding. And, #3, I've seen this shot a thousand times, but never with a person in there for scale... and I think that was a great addition! The photo gains a whole 'nother dimension because of that.

#2&3 are the favorites for me. I like the clouds separating the LaSals and the arch. 2 looks a little overexposed.

I like where you were going with DA, but it just seems wrong to cut off the top...
on the other hand, 2 & 3 rock!

They're all great....really like Turret Arch and the mountains...
Last time I was in Moab and shot through the North Window, I had to wait for some clown to get OUT of the middle of the arch...but he wasn't kind enough to pose, as your wife did...a great add-on!
Outstanding work! #4 has incredible mood to it! Just remove the chromatic aberrations along the ridge lines and print it huge! The rest are just as good.

Amazing series! I really like the composition of the first one as it's not something you usually see.
#3 is amazing and I really like the added aspect of a person in the shot. Was that sunset?
That fog rolling off the cliff in #4 is pretty sweet!
