Elk in Texas
I have has a few days off here over the holidays but did not have any travel opportunities. I did however manage to take a couple day drives west of town. Foggy and misty weather and although I went looking for landscapes, I came across some game at a ranch and got a few images. Now for you wildlife guys I know these are ho-hum at best but since it was happenstance to find them I was happy enough with that.

First is a pair of bucks. An African exotic but I am not sure which. They were out there a ways and my 200mm lens only brings em in so close. However the were butting heads so I got a few images, this would be the fav.

Then down in the next pasture I saw this guy and proceeded to make a few images of him.

After a couple of minutes I notice the other rack and then moved to get both of the boys.

I've always enjoyed my time watching elk in Rocky Mountain National Park. There is something undeniably majestic about them.

Darren, Very nice... I especially like the second image. It creates a place where I'd want to be.

thanks, Barry

NIce series, Darren. Number 2 is my favorite.
