Pelican Dive
The brown pelican is the only one of the pelican tribes that fishes this way. It took me half a day of practice to get this as good as I did! I finally figured the tells for a dive—a rise to height. a brief soar to spot a prey, tuck the head and dive! I would lock on to a prospect and follow. I had a series of about twenty attempts before I got the hang of it.

Phil, very nice series!! All four shots are good, but I like the very first one best. Thanks for the story behind the shots.
