Sunrise River
Took this one on the last day of November this year. My folks liked it so much they decided to use it for their Christmas card. Happy New Year everyone!

I like it too. The water works with the snow covered trees.

Very nice shot Tim. Super detail in the snow covered branches!

thanks! The funny thing about this shot was that it was taken super quickly, sans tripod or anything. It was super snowy, the roads were unplowed and with no shoulder on the road to speak of, so I put my truck in park in the middle of the road, and jumped out, snapped a couple, and jumped back in. I guess that's one of the upsides about shooting in winter- sooo much light out there! You can shoot at pretty much f/anything and still get a fast enough shutter speed to hand hold. Except when it's super cold and you start shivering, but I don't take my camera out in those conditions very often.

The dark river really complements the frost on the trees. I can see why your parents use it on their Xmas card.
