NY2011 Eve/Day- What did yours look like?
Now, just a friendly reminder– nature photos to inspire us for a good start for photos in the New Year... Show us what your home/place looked liked over the 31st-1st. Critique or not; mostly just for fun.

Here's one from New Year's Eve day at dawn. On the drive home (north from downtown) we could see the whole Cascade range, foothills to summits, from Rainier to Baker in crystal clear pink light. Sweet.

Happy New Year to all.

What a fun shot of my old hometown. Happy New Year to you as well, Catherine.

Cool shot Catherine! It's not often an image contains more than one icon. Well conceived and executed.
Have a great 2011! :toast:

Grabbed this sunrise along the road to Mowich New Years Day. The sky appeared and was gone in just a few seconds, but there was some nice light in the fg.

Have a great New Year everyone!

This was the first sunset of 2011. My wife and I spent new years eve and day on the coast and we were treated with unusually good weather for the Oregon coast in winter.

Bandon beach, New Year's evening. Not the most dynamic comp, but no complaints. I was further down the beach working amongst the more recognizable formations, but with the holiday, fantastic weather, and low tide, there were people literally climbing the rocks. It took 300mm to reach these rocks, so it's pretty much a straight-on shot. Nice light and a beautiful beach - not a bad way to start the year.
