As is usually the case, there were at least twice as many images that could have easily been selected - you folks make it tough on us! I don't know about you, but the EPA 2010 Gallery really knocks my socks off!
I listed the countries where the member lives to show how truly international NPN is becoming. Through this diversity, NPN is a far more interesting place to view nature photos and to participate as a member. This is a wonderful trend that I hope continues.
Congratualtions again to all who were selected for the EPA 2010!

I am honored and very surprised to be selected for second honorable mention. How difficult it must be to select a few photos from the thousands of great photos presented over the year. The credit for my award goes to the generous contributors on this website, who gently and patiently critiqued my photos and coached me over the past couple of years. Many thanks to NPN.

I too am delighted to have been selected as one of the winners. I am in awe at the quality of the photographs on this website, so to have won one of the categories is fantastic.
As Keith Bauer further up this thread says "I think everyone who participates on NPN ends up a winner"
Congratulations to all of the members who had images selected from the VERY long list of outstanding posted photographs over this past year. Truly a collection of the very finest images shot from all around this wonderful planet of ours.

Wonderful images - congratulations to all. I always find it interesting (and sometimes instructive) to see how those outside "our" community react to our images. Rob Galbraith's very popular website (www.robgalbraith.com) announced the 2010 winners via his blog (and RSS) and his preamble to the link may give some pause for thought (I offer no comment on HIS views and simply present this as food for thought - or rejection! ;-)
Nature Photographers Editor's Pick Awards 2010 is mostly a stunning gallery of nature photography but being former newspaper guys, we could do without images that rely mainly on heavy-handed Photoshop techniques.
PS: Please don't shoot the messenger!

Wow!!! I'm shocked and speechless... What an honor to have my photo chosen from an innumerable selection of outstanding images here at NPN! It's also very humbling, as being a new member here amongst such talented individuals, I have much to learn from you all. Mahalo, NPN!!! Congrats to all the other winners as well! The staff and membership here makes this site what it is - the best of the best!!!
Congratulations to all who received the Editor's Pick for 2010. Images are stunning and the recognition is very well deserved. As a member of NPN for several years, I have formed friendships and have learned more about photography from the forums than I have in all the years I've been photographing. The talent is priceless and the support is fantastic.
I look forward to continuing my participation this year, as soon as I can get outside and start shooting. Thanks to all at NPN and congrats again to all the winners.
