So I am working with Photoshop. Looking at some image of a flower. Darn, there is a spot on that flower that I just don't like. Oh well - get out the healing tool and purge that spot.
Not working. What?
Check the layers panel to make sure I am on the right layer. Nope, that's not it.
Check brush opacity. Nope that's not it either.
Try again. Still not erasing that spot. Crud.
Shut down Photoshop, and restart. Do it all again. No luck.
Well crud - what do you know - there's a spot of crud on my monitor.
Oooooh. All to familiar! I'm so suspicious of spots, if they don't disappear on the first pass, my next step is to grab the edge of the whole frame and slide it a little. If the spot stays in one place as the image moves, I use my Windex tool.

I would love to know how many of us have done the same thing, and felt more than a little foolish. Thanks for sharing!

I've done it. Let's see, that makes at least 3 of us. I'm gonna guess the real number is a bit higher than that.

I am so glad ya'll feel my pain! Unfortunately the crud on the monitor wiped off rather easily (fingerprint from a 9 year I believe).
Too bad - I was looking for a bigger monitor (the spousal unit says no way).

Guilty!
The other day I was on a web site that had a black background, and looking at it, saw how dirty my monitor was! Cleaned the screen, hmmmm....still there. Finally figured out it wasn't me after all! Seems the background on the site itself was rather cruddy. Oh well...my monitor is clean now for sure!

Thanks for the laugh. I can, with a straight face, say I have yet to do that . . . . . . . . . . . . . this week. It's only Monday, so there's still time.

Happens to all of us periodically, I bet..
