Moab? Snoab!
First off, if you'd like to read about my latest adventure, click on the blog link below. I'll be adding photo links to the story, but you're pretty much going to see everything here.

First stop on the trip was Colorado National Monument. Spent the night at one of the overlooks (OMG, I'm tellin'!) and overnight the snow really kicked in. No valley fog, like I had hoped, but oh well.

#1: Snowy CNM

#2: After CNM, headed down along the Unaweep-Tabeguache Scenic Byway. Here's a shot from just outside Gateway.

#3: Unaweep knows all, sees all.

#4: Spent the night on the rim of Goosenecks State Park in Utah. Always wanted to see it with snow.

#5: Headed up to Moab, where the storm still gripped the La Sal Mountains.

#6: Headed into Arches, shot sunset at the Fiery Furnace.

#7: Shot New Year's morning from Grand View Point in Canyonlands. Here's a predawn shot. Here's a link to a bigger version: BIGGER VERSION

#8: And after the sun rose.
Posted by Todd Caudle on January 5, 2011 at 12:35 AM
#9: Later that day the La Sals were looking mighty pristine.

That's all for now. I might post a new thread tomorrow, if I get around to processing anything that's substantially different from what I've already posted.

The last two are a symphony in red, white and blue Todd. Awesome. All are very nice.

Sweet series Todd! Sucha productive trip just from looking at these. Favs????.....1, 3 (very cool!), the river of milk chocolate in 4, REALLY love 6, and the tiny spit of spindrift in 9 is a nice touch. Actually like all of them a lot!

Oh man, these are all excellent! I'm glad to see you were out making the most of our latest storm, dude. Wish I coulda joined you but those family and job obligations kept jumping out at me. Congrats on the killer photos! :toast:

Pam, if you like that spindrift, here's a closer look.

I love the Goosenecks shot. Layercake with white icing.
I've never seen a shot from there with so much snow cover.

That's a wonderful winter collection. :toast:

Man, you're killing me! I've been wanting to get down to Moab/Cedar Mesa for weeks now. Maybe next weekend.

Love all of them, especially from within Arches towards the LaSals. Looks like a fun trip!

Fantastic collection, Todd! Very productive trip. My favs are (in order, drumroll please...):
6, 7, 4. 6 is KILLER. 4 would be a close 2d, but id tweak the cyan a bit (too much cyan in #2 as well) and nix the dust spot. Good stuff.

Great series. Really like #7!

You done good, sir! I sure do like #7 and #4, but they're all real good.
You spent the night at the Goosenecks?!? You must have a killer sleeping bag!

Nice trip. I like 1&5 for the lingering storm. Maybe increase the red in the rock in 5 as they look brown in comparison to the other images.

They sure are PURDYYYYYYY!

Great set Todd. Love the Goosenecks view with all the snow.

You had one heck of a productive trip, Todd. This is a great series, with the Gooseneck image being my favorite.

Yeah, the Gooseneck shot really stands out, but what a productive trip! Fantastic set, TC! :toast:

4, 5 and 6. Looks like an awesome trip. #7 has a green hue in the snow, that especially shows in the large version.

Some beautiful images in this series Todd. Catching snow there must have been even more amazing to see.

Beautiful series Todd - never seen Goosenecks with snow :toast:

Todd, the entire series is terrific! Lately, people are making it very hard to choose a favorite out of a collection...for me...I might say it is a tie for 2,4 and 6.

This is a stunning collection. Your Goosenecks shot is the best I have seen from there. You need to blow that one up big! I also think your Fiery Furnace is just as good and is deserving of some wall space too!! Great job.

I like pre-dawn shot #7.
