It's been so long since I visited here that I forgot my log in password

I am finally getting my personal life back to it's original semi-normal state and got a chance to finally put that brand new 5D2 to a good use. Was lucky enough to photograph Yellowstone for the first time. Pretty incredible experience, even if it wasn't nearly long enough. I wrote a little bit more about it on my blog and included a few images. I would have posted the last image (probably my favorite) from that blog post here but I figured it might be worth checking out a little bigger so make sure you click on them to really see them. Feel free let me know what you think. Hope to see a lot of you in a few weeks at the shindig :wavey:

Aleksandra looks like you had alot of fun in Yellowstone. You have some nice images.

Aleks, not going for the iconic is the best thing you could have done here. What people expect from a specific area is exactly those icons, and what you've done is peeled away a layer of Yellowstone which most folks rarely would see. This is what makes it work for me, that you were able to focus on the unmatched elements, and make scenes that are true to the Western backcountry.

Lovely tones in "Milky" and "Winter's Glow" is a very striking image and a great choice for B&W. Always great to see unique images from NPs...

That third one is great! Love some of the subtleties to it.

They kept getting better as I scrolled down. Nice non-typical images.

Winter's Glow is a great shot. Yellowstone in winter is on my 'list' too. Looks like you had a fun trip!

Nice work, Aleks. I love #3! What a prize it would make at the shindig print exchange. (Not so subtle hint. )

Glad you had a great trip. I'm sure spending a day with Jesse was great. Yellowstone is a great place anytime of the year. Really like #3.

I like 'em all in descending order. Although I disagree with Darwin W. regarding bad light, you seem to have had pretty darn good light for all three of these images! B&W was a real good choice, too.

Pretty, Aleks, really like 'Winter's glow'. BTW, was up at Zapata Falls yesterday, not as much ice as usual, will probably post a shot here in a day or so. :wavey:
