...because her halo is right here! In a so far fruitless attempt to find a shot and avoid having to finally and grudgingly hook up my film scanners, I came across this old 35mm film image from yesteryear. It was taken around the San Rafael Swell in Utah, probably mid-'90s.
I still like how film handles highlights better than sensors. Just one man's opinion. Also, I really like the blue tint and the silouhetted rock. Graphic excellence!

Cool! Got a couple dust spots in the upper right corner to clean up but it's a small nit. What a fun find from your archives. I haven't been out much lately and have been doing some scanning too. It's always nice to find some jems like this one hidden in your collection!
Super eye-grabbing composition! Would make a great book cover! I also agree with Morris on the benefits of film with a birght light source in the frame.
I like this a lot, especially the werewolf climbing the ridge!

Is there a name for a type of photography that juxtaposes landscapes with cool celestial events? First the Fischer Towers moon image, now this. Wow! I am really impressed.

Really like the comp! I'm in the same boat. Been getting out, but not getting any images worth keeping!

9 repliesInterestingly, the first time I saw a halo like this was in the Swell while hiking Ding and Dang Canyons. Weird.
As Morris said, graphic excellence!
