Nothing much to shoot around here these days, too cloudy and windy so I have been cleaning up some old files and came across this unidentified bird. Very small bird in the top of the tree. It was taken in springtime.
Thanks muchly.

Not a lot of field marks from this angle, May, and you don't say where the shot was taken. Maybe Philadelphia Vireo? Isn't there a paler subspecies?
Jim, this was taken in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The bird, was as I recall, about the size of a palm warbler.

May, the pointy bill, gray underparts, whitish supercilium, hints of green in the upperparts, and short tail with white undertail coverts point to Tennessee Warbler.

It is indeed a male Tennessee Warbler.
