Because I would like to see more participation in our newly created IC gallery, I am proposing we have monthly themes such as camera clubs have for their competitions. The difference would be no prizes or awards, just a common goal of sharing images and critiquing in hopes of helping all of us become better photographers, regardless of where we are in the learning curve.
Feel free to submit your suggestions for "themes" in the coming months!
We'll start the year off with a January theme of your Best/Favorite image from 2010. Let's see what you have, and please remember to comment on other posted images!
Toni - I agree, a nice idea. I've been so busy I haven't posted or commented on much lately, but I'll get something out there. Picking a favorite, though...

For February, maybe "snow"? That is a weak area in my own portfolio. I have yet to be able to find some really compelling snow images. I really like the one, for instance, that Phil Schwartz posted here. Might be some good images for mid-winter.

Thanks, Andy, and yes...I think a "snow" theme for next month is a great idea..thanks for that! It will give us all a couple of weeks to come up with something if we don't already have a snow image in our files.

Thanks for getting this idea going for the new year Toni. I'm jumping in as well. I like the idea and hope we can get more images posted to the MW IC gallery. I also like the proposed February topic of 'snow.' It will force me to get out and try and add to my winter files.

Toni: After going through some of my images, I was going to suggest and "ice" theme, too. Maybe Ice for March and Spring for April?

Andy, good idea but maybe a better one would be to change the current topic in the IC gallery to Snow and Ice? The month has just started so it wouldn't be any big deal to add the Ice part.
